Yesterday 11 August, feast of St. Clare, two temporary professed friars of the Zambian province, Augustine Mabila MUTALE and Stanislaus MUKUKA, died in a car accident near Solwezi (Zambia), while returning to Our Lady of Consolation mission, Lwawu (Mwinilunga district), where they were spending their yearly pastoral experience.

The mission vehicle, driven by fr. Collins Zulu, went out of the road because of a tyre burst, rolling over: the two young friars died instantly, while the driver is admitted at Solwezi general hospital.

The two deceased friars, of 29 and 27 years respectively, from next September would have attended the third year of philosophy at Lusaka’s St. Bonaventure College.

We are close to their families and to the entire province of Zambia in this time of sorrow, while turning to the Lord in prayer.
