June 21-24, 2010, the Province or Our Lady of Consolation met at Holy Cross Retreat Center, Mesilla Park, New Mexico, USA, for the second phase of their Province Chapter...

The Delegates sought to respond to the question of where we are going today as a Franciscan Order, and continued to work on the Strategic Plan of the Province. They reviewed their current plan to evaluate how it might be more effective, and what changes needed to be made for the next quadrennium. At the end of the process, the two most urgent needs of the strategic plan were presented, and will be the future priority for the next four years.

The remaining time of Provincial Chapter was spent examining proposals set forth by the friars. Guardians for the Friaries scattered throughout the Midwest and Southwest United States were proposed and chosen. Critical issues confronting Franciscan life were discussed, and a fraternal atmosphere was enjoyed through the daily liturgies of the Eucharist and the Hours, along with common recreation and the celebration of the Province Jubiliarians. Thirty friars were in attendance including Friar John-Joseph Dolan, Assistant General for CFC.
