On Friday, 17th April, 2009, 11 novices made their Temporary  Profession of Vows in a Franciscan Church in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam.

Fr. Emmanuel Gatt, Vicar of Our Lady Help of Christians  General Custody, received the vows and the main celebrant for the Mass  was Fr. Martin Mai OFM Conv, the mission animator and he was joined by  Fr. Maximilian Tuan OFM Conv, the Novice Master (from St. Joseph of Cupertino Province, USA),  Fr. Miha Majetic OFM Conv. (from  the Slovenian Province) - these three friars work in the Vietnam  mission.

Also attending from overseas were Fr. Damiano OFM Conv, the  Minister Provincial of the Japanese Province,  Fr. Christopher Shorrock (the treasurer of the Australian Custody), Fr. Luke OFM Conv., from St. Joseph of Cupertino Province (USA) and one of the Vietnamese friars who has recently made his Solemn Profession in the Japanese Province and whose younger brother was one of the new temporary professed.

Many religious and diocesan priests also attended with an estimated congregation of over 500 family and friends of the Friars.
