Newly Elected Assistant General for FAAMC

During the General Definitory session of April 22, 2008, taking into consideration the suggestions offered by the Ministers and Custodes of the Jurisdictions of Asia and Australia, the Minister General with his Definitory elected a new Assistant General for the FAAMC, Friar Vincent Long Nguyen, General Custos of the General Custody of Australia, in substitution for Friar Eugene Kawashimo, who had resigned for reasons of health.

The new Assistant was born in Gia Kiem, Vietnam on December 3, 1961, made his temporary profession in 1984, and solemn profession in 1989, the same year of his Ordination to Priesthood. He has been General Custos of Australia since 2005.
