The General Archives of the Order preserves the documents of which the current administration of the General Curia has no further need. For the most part, use is made of the letters and papers of the General Secretary and other offices of the General Curia from the 19th and 20th centuries. In some cases one also finds the oldest writings that give witness to the early history of our community such as the collection of Decrees and parchments or the various writings recorded by the Ministers General (from 1488 and later). Besides these, various old records from institutions that no longer exist, such as the archives from the College of Saint Bonaventure (1582-1873) or the archives of the Penitenzieri of Loreto (1774-1936), are preserved.
The General Archives is, above all, a structure to serve the needs of the General Curia. One may also request consultation of the historical archives, that is those documents before 1960 AD, as well as other topics of interest. An appointment is necessary for any desire to review the inventory or consult the archives.
