Historical Note: The present library began to be re-established in 1938 due to the interest of Friar Giuseppe Abate, OFM Conv., and has been enriched by the Friar librarians that have been involved with it to this day. It is the re-acquisition of the ancient library of the College of St. Bonaventure, established by Pope Sixtus V in 1588 and later confiscated by the Italian State in 1873.
Character: The library has a specialized character in that it primarily addresses the study of Franciscan history, doctrine and spirituality
Materials available: 450 manuscripts; 63 books predating 1500 AD; 108 published between 1500 and 1600 AD.
Library structure: The Library is structured with a number of metal shelves, positioned throughout four rooms, along with modern metal desk for student work. There are two card files, one for Franciscan materials and another metal file for the documents.

Every Tuesday and Friday
From 9:00 AM until Noon
And from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM
