GREETINGS OF THE MINISTER GENERAL
TO THE WHOLE ORDER

Dearest Brothers, and Dear Visitors to this Site,

As we journey through the Liturgical Year, we find ourselves, once again before the great mystery of  God’s Love, descending to human poverty in order to transform it into an encounter of reconciliation and mercy. The Word made flesh, speaks, therefore, of a union of encounter,  relationship, and  fraternity. Our Father St. Francis had a good grasp of the centrality of this mystery of love, and loved Christmas more than any other feast.

We are also invited to witness to the goodness and mercy of God; to welcome with an open and sincere heart, those brothers and sisters whom we encounter each day on our journey; to recognize the presence of the Lord in the poorest among humanity. Therefore, let our hearts be inflamed with the announcement of the angels to the shepherds: “Today, in the city of David, there is born to you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord!” (Lk. 2:11)
With a sincere heart, I hope that you will spend these festive days in serenity and peace, enlightened by the presence of God-with-us.

Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year 2011!
The Lord Give You Peace!

Friar Marco Tasca
Minister General
