The Capitular Friars elected:
Friar Krzysztof Cieślikiewicz - Provincial Custos
Friar Francis Mumburi - Custodial Vicar
Friar Robert Czeszkiewicz - Secretary of the Custody
Friar Dariuz Szymborski - Treasurer

The Provincial Custody of Tanzania is composed of 27 members, of which there are 15 Solemnly Professed (10 Poles and 5 Tanzanians), 7 Simply Professed (philosophy/theology) 3 novices, and 2 postulants.

The Custody is made up of four Friaries: Mwanga, Arusha/Poli, Dar es Salam/Segerea, and Morogora. The greatest distance of some 600 kilometers (373 miles) is between Arusha and Dar es Salem. These four Friaries serve the Church in the following areas: 3 parishes, a formation house for candidates to the Order, spiritual assistance to Religious, teaching in the religious Colleges, Marian media activity, and charitable pastoral activity.

The Friars are particularly well known in the country thanks to the Marian Publications which, as a result, is their principal source of vocations.

The Friars continue to develop our Franciscan Charism with enthusiasm throughout the Church of Tanzania, most recently being involved in the area of infant and child education with the opening of two pre-schools and an imposing complex, “The Saint Maximilian Kolbe Education Center”, constructed in collaboration with the Caritas Antonianum of Padua.

The second part of the Chapter is scheduled for September 21-25, 2009 with the Assistant General of AFCOF participating as the Delegate of the Minister General.
