On Friday October 17, 2008, the anniversary of the founding of the Militia of the Immaculate, the Community at St. Maximilian M. Kolbe Friary in Rome, celebrated its feast. It was the first celebration after the work of restoration was competed in the Friary, which made it a special occasion.

During the celebration, the room where St. Maximilian lived was inaugurated. The room was restored to the original style that it had at the time of the foundation of the Militia.

A Solemn Mass was presided over by his Eminence, Angelo Cardinal Comastri and concelebrated by a number of friars who came from the friaries in Rome.

Friar Vincenzo Marcoli, Secretary General of the Order, presided over the rite of inauguration of the Kolbe room and museum.

Many people participated in the Mass and the reception that followed, which was hosted by the Community.
