Ordinary Provincial Chapter of the Province of St. Joseph in Romania

On July 3, 2008, the Ordinary Provincial Chapter of the Province of St. Joseph in Romania, elected FRIAR EMILIAN CĂTĂLIN as Minister Provincial.

Friar Emilian, from Băluşeşti (Neamt-Romania), was born on March 23, 1976 in Roman, Romania. He attended the High School Minor Seminary of St. Francis of Assisi in Roman. He made novitiate in 1995-1996 and took his first vows August 17, 1996.

Between the years 1996-2002 he studied at the Franciscan Theological Institute in Roman.

On September 17, 2000, he took Solemn Vows, was ordained a Deacon on October 4, 2001, and ordained a Priest on June 29, 2002.

From 2001 to 2004 he served on the formation team for the Minor Seminary in Roman, and from 2004, he was the Director at the Seminary.

At the Ordinary Provincial Chapter of 2004 he was elected to the Province Definitory.

In 2007 he was awarded a License in Psychology and Education Science from the State University “Al. I. Cuza” in Iaşi, Romania.
